"Parasite Fae" - 05/22/2022

"Parasite Fae"
05/22/2022

The earliest thing I can remember, from this dream, was witnessing an attack on a small group of people, in an alley. I wasn't actually a part of this group, but I was right there with them, even though I didn't seem to be the target of the assailants, until I started trying to help fend them off. The attackers were a feral gang of masked goons. The way they moved kind of reminded me of the Reapers from "Blade II."

Eventually, one of the people I'd attempted to save intervened, in kind, and took on the entire gang. He or she swung an arm out, and long, squid-like tentacles splayed out from within the sleeves, overpowering the attackers and causing those who could still stand to turn away in retreat. I can't remember how badly, but I had been wounded in the fight and - in what I first thought was a gesture of thanks, but turned out to be a kidnapping by force - gathered me up and escorted me back to their home.

The strangers resided in some hidden, underground lair - reminiscent of the hideout of the Morlocks from "The Gifted" (which we'd been watching, lately). There, within a chamber that seemed to be a makeshift laboratory, they 'introduced' to 'their Queen, Fae,' which, they'd said, was somehow related to the mythical "faeries" that we all know from legends and...well...fairytales. To my surprise, though, this "Queen," they spoke of, turned out to be a sentient mass of tangled, shapeless tissue, about the size of a basketball - like something out of John Carpenter's "The Thing." It squelched its way over to me and moved around me, in close proximity, as if silently studying me. Then, without any warning, the 'Thing' darted at me and latched on, its tendrils burying itself into my skin and, apparently, fusing with me.

Almost immediately, I developed a sort of psychic link with this creature - which spoke with a female voice. It began to tell me about its kind, and about how all of the "strangers" in this lair all had the same sort of parasitic relationships with her species, but that she was potentially the most powerful, which is why they saw her as their queen. The longer that these beings "fed" on their hosts, she explained, the more they would be able to resemble humans, themselves. She also said that she found me 'fascinating,' specifically, and that she would be using me as her vessel - whether I wanted her to or not.

What followed was a long, disturbing jumble of fleeting memories of her "taking over" my body, whenever she was attached to me, and using me as a sort of vehicle, to battle the Reaper-like gang from earlier, who were, apparently, rivals to these extraterrestrial creatures. Whenever we would clash, I would use the same tentacled types of attacks that the person had been using, from earlier in the dream - my arms bursting into long, gnarled strands of fleshy tissue that ensnared our victims and tore them apart, graphically - mercilessly - tearing them limb from limb in bloodbath after bloodbath. (It felt very "Tetsuo" from the anime "Akira.") Over time - the more and more that I was used as a tool for her vengeance - she would begin to transform into more of a human appearance, even when some portion of her always remained attach to me, as if I was sprouting a conjoined twin whenever she decided to speak verbally, which she'd developed the ability to do.

There was one moment, where my fiance showed up, and "Fae" transformed into the likeness of a toddler, running around near my feet, in order to hide her true form and the physical connection that always had to remain between us, in order to keep a humanoid form. Naturally, though, my fiance became inquisitive about the unfamiliar child who was clinging so comfortably to me and, after a round of prodding questions, Fae finally got fed up at the interrogation and did a grotesque, horrific transformation, back into a full-sized adult woman, completely abandoning the disguise and revealing who and what she was.

Eventually, Fae had learned that her "nemesis," was using a large corporation as a front, and he could be found at its headquarters. Prepared to put an end to their ongoing war, we showed up to the facility with intent to take down this 'Boss' of sorts. While we made our way into the building, and up to the main office / penthouse, where this kingpin was supposed to be hanging out, my view switched to a disembodied perspective and showed the outside of the building from the air. From there, I could see the massive fountain at the entrance and, within the fountain, I could see the gigantic silhouette of a fish-like monster swimming around, beneath the surface of the water.

Before long, I was back in a first-person view, just as I was walking into the penthouse. I (along with the parasite attached to my body) searched around for wherever this 'person' might be. There didn't seem to be anyone even remotely nearby, on this entire floor, and I was just beginning to get the feeling that we'd been led here, deceptively.

Suddenly, a large silhouette appeared in the window, just before a loud crash as broken glass streamed into the expansive office. The giant fish monster, from the fountain - about the size of an 18-wheeler - had flown up from the ground floor and burst through the window, crushing the owner's desk and taking up a good portion of the room, as it landed. It flopped around, violently (as one might expect a gigantic fish out of water to do), trying its hardest to swallow me whole. Using my parasitic tendrils to fight back, I was able to defend myself just long enough to escape the penthouse and make my way back down through the building. Once I got down to the ground level, though, the giant fish plummeted to the ground in front of me, having jumped from the top floor, in pursuit. Immediately, the fish monster spun around, in place, transforming in the same, disgusting, visceral way that 'Fae' changed shape, and it became an enormous, hulking, torso of a bald man. Apparently, this was Fae's nemesis, and he had the ability to transform, as well. Only a moment after revealing its oversized, human form, the monstrous figure turned around, again, twisting and contorting its limbs and flesh to become a giant alien head with an elongated cranium and rows about rows of sword-like teeth - each about as big as my own body.

The last thing I remember is a pretty balls-out battle against this shape-shifting monster, using my tentacles as whips and spears, with Fae - at some point - taking about half of her humanoid form and fighting as an almost 'second' person, beside me.

"Remnants of Cerberus" - 12/23/2021 (Lucid)

"Remnants of Cerberus"
12/23/2021
(Lucid)

(This dream was pretty fragmented, and I could only remember a few, key moments of it. I had been playing "Devil May Cry 5", before bed, and I'm pretty sure my acquisition and usage of a 3-tier weapon of fire, ice, and electricity - that I got after defeating the boss demon King Cerberus - is what inspired these encounters.)

I was in my old neighborhood, at night, just roaming about the streets. There were a few other people out, but all was relatively quiet. Then, with absolutely no warning, a raging, flaming minotaur rampaged onto the scene. The top half of its body was set ablaze, as if it was sporting a flowing mane of pure fire that covered its head and upper torso. It was doing these rushing berserker-type attacks and mauled at least one person before turning its sights on me. It blitzed me and I had to brace against its charge with my forearms. Each impact felt like I was bracing against the heaviest lineman, running into me at full speed. After reeling from the intensity of each of its charges - surprisingly, never finding myself getting burned from its fiery headbutts - I was able to dodge a few of its attacks before it veered off toward another person. I don't how, exactly, it happened, but when it caught up to the other passerby, it immediately turned the man into ice, as if it had ejected frozen air from its snout, or something. The person literally froze in place, solid, into a strange, organic form like a nautilus shell made of ice.

Using this window of opportunity, I hauled ass and ran out of the entrance of the neighborhood, sprinting down the sidewalk next to the main road. I remember passing two motorcycle cops that were just hanging out on the side of the road, but the thought never occurred to me to stop and tell them what was happening. Instead, I continued running toward the shopping center that sat at the next major intersection. It was here that I notice something bright, filling the night sky, in the distance. As it loomed closer, I could see that it was a fire-tornado, whirling its way toward the shopping center and in my, personal, direction.

Still not yet lucid, I don't know exactly what prompted me that I could even do this, but I suddenly decided to take flight, and I levitated off of the sidewalk and into the air. Getting a grand view of the town from above, as well as the imposing cyclone of flames that was still stalking up the street toward me, I instinctively decided to fly back to my neighborhood, feeling that I might rather take my chances with the no-less-fiery minotaur. The moment I touched down, though, just next to my home, I briefly contemplated what had been happening. I realized that - of course - this all had to be a dream.

I was no longer afraid of encountering the minotaur, but it was nowhere to be found. Instead, though, as if right on cue, I saw the bright glow of a monstrous fire coming through the dark streets of my neighborhood. The closer it got, the more I could see that it wasn't the minotaur. No. It was a machine. A crane, of sorts. It was as if an oversized backhoe was fitted with a massive, rotating sawblade on its telescopic arm, and that sawblade - itself - was also made of a supernatural hellfire. The tractor portion of the vehicle didn't have wheels. Instead, it was actively laying track, in front of itself, which constructed a system of x/y axes on the ground, for the tractor to shift toward me in an alternation of frontward / sideward movements.

Unafraid, due to my newfound lucidity, I just waited for the giant machine to approach. The flaming, rotated blade swung itself around in my direction, and I took to the air. The blade swiped just beneath me, and I could hear the loud whirring of the machine as its crane arm changed directions and brought the blade back around toward me, again. I was completely comfortable in my flight, though, able to zip through the air in short, lateral bursts, evading each subsequent slash from the crane and watching the flaming blade shred through the trees - and even some houses - in the neighborhood as it continued to try to slice me out of the air.

I don't remember anything after toying with this contraption, though.

"Tap Worms" - 09/17/2021

"Tap Worms"
09/17/2021

Some friends and I were hanging out in my old home. We had been casually drinking glasses of tap water from the sink, and really thinking nothing of it, for most of the day. (For context: the water quality where I live, now, isn't great.) At some point, though, we'd begun to notice that there was quite a lot of "trash" floating about in our glasses. Upon closer inspection, we found that there were the tiny, brown worms hanging about, in the water. We immediately dumped whatever we had left in our glasses, disgusted.

Shortly after our discovery, the odd behavior started. First, it was just within my group of friends, with people becoming erratic and frenzied. After dispersing everyone from the home, though, I'd come to find that this had begun affecting other folks in my neighborhood, and beyond. These worms, it was revealed, were part of a hive-mind of parasitic creatures, which bored their way through people's bodies and into their brains, causing them to become infected with treacherous, murderous tendencies. As more of these cases amassed, the worms began growing - and growing - to the point where they were breaking out of the bodies of their hosts and just continuing to expand like pasta noodles from a pressurized grate. Before long, it wasn't safe to be anywhere in town, and those of us who seemed unaffected had resolved to finding a hideaway, far away from town.

We came upon a small church, out in the sticks, and set up a spot to rest and plan our next move. This was a short-lived refuge, though, as more of the worms, already enlarged, began streaming up out of the floor around us. Then, the floor, itself, began cracking open, and what was proven to be an enormous, Lovecraftian mass of tentacles - the apparent base of this superorganism of worms - came breaking its way up from beneath the building. (It reminded me of the monster from Deep Rising.) I had no choice but to jump out of a window, as the creature overwhelmed the church and, soon, began expanding outward until it overtook the entire region, mutilating and consuming everyone caught in its ever-inflating path. Eventually, I, too, was swept up by the creature, and I remember being fed to the toothy, cavernous base within the mass of tendrils. Everything went black.

Suddenly, there was a transition in the dream, and I was back at my old home. Things had, seemingly, returned to normal, though I still had memory of what had happened, before. Immediately after recalling past events, the tentacled monster broke in through the halls of the home, forcing me out of the front door. I ran through the neighborhood, looking back to see the mass of tendrils completely overtaking my house, billowing up through the roof like gigantic strands of hair, undulating in an underwater current.

Panicked, I ran around the corner, passing my older neighbor, F's, home. She saw me passing and came out as if to help me. I gave her the abridged rundown of what was happening, and her face quickly turned stern and serious. She something like: "Run, all you want. You'll never escape. Surrender, now. You'll be dead within 20 minutes, anyway." Her sinister tone was unmistakable, and I could tell that she was possessed. The worms had already begun burrowing through her brain and twisting her thoughts to that of the hivemind. Immediately, I was struck by a sense of hopelessness and defeat. I felt trapped in this, practically circular, series of events. Somewhat apathetically, I submitted to the demand, and said that I was going to go along without a struggle, and my neighbor told me that she was going to take me to meet the source of this monstrous presence, face-to-face. I knew, instinctively, that this was a case of demonic influence, and not something specifically alien. For whatever reason, I agreed to go with her, and got into her car.

Already sitting in her backseat, was another woman - around my age. Apparently, she was another person who had "surrendered," and she was also being taken to the source. We arrived at a towering, high-rise building in the city, and followed F into the elevator. A creeping dread came over me, as we ascended, and I could tell that the other captive was doing the same. We both knew that, no matter what happened during his meeting, we would soon be meeting our demise. Panic, once again, began to take hold.

Shortly after the elevator doors open, the other woman made a break for it, sprinting, full-tilt, toward the large window at the end of the hall, crashing through the glass and plummeting to her death, obviously preferring to face death upon her own terms. Shocked, F turned and looked at me, as if to gauge my reaction. Immediately, I blurted out to her that "That's what I'm going to do, too!" As promised, a dashed down the hallway, sailing through the open window and careening toward the street, far below.

The last thing I remember was a feeling of all-encompassing calm and acceptance, knowing that I was going to die upon smacking into the pavement, but relieved that I would not become a mindless drone of this ravenous demon that we'd just abandoned. Everything went black, during the fall, and I don't remember ever hitting the ground.

"Arachnoception" - 11/15/2010 (Lucid + FAs)

"Arachnoception"
11/15/2010
(Lucid+FAs)

(Got a lucid dream for my birthday. Just wish it would have been a more pleasant one. Usually, I will count false awakenings as separate dreams, but since this is all so continuous, and had such a "dreams within dreams" feeling, I will count it as one.

Having just gotten a copy of Inception, I decided to watch it last night, while going to bed, to try to induce something Inception-related. Seems like I got more than I bargained for...)

I can barely remember the early parts of this dream, but I was driving through DeLand, with JH. We were taking the road that passes the landfill, on the way back over to my side of town. For some reason, though, we had to take a detour through the landfill. While driving through it, we apparently stumbled upon some kind of criminal(?) element and were dragged out of the car, at gunpoint. We were taken inside the facility, and the only thing I remember, here, is that I was in what I think was a bathroom, and I got attacked by some sort of creature. It was about the size of a rat, and I believe its body wasn't actually organic. It seemed to be something of a shell, made out of what I think was a child's toy. From within the object, spider-leg-like tendrils protruded, which served as both legs and powerful pincers. It reminded me a lot of the creeping coffins, from "Lords of Shadow" (which I have been playing, lately), except much smaller in size. I had to fight like hell, to keep this thing off of me, but I eventually got away from it. Not much longer after that, the cops showed up and raided the compound, starting a huge firefight. In the fray, we were able to escape, and I vaguely remember a random, small dog being killed, during the fight.

[False Awakening #1]

The next thing I knew, I was waking up, in my bed. It was still night out, and 'Inception' was still playing on my computer. After a moment, I stepped out of bed, and I was immediately ambushed by the "creeping toy" creature, from the previous dream. It came from out of nowhere and ran up my leg, biting and scratching with its pinchers/legs. This thing fought with all the ferocity of a rabid squirrel, and I could not get it off of me. My leg was getting mangled by the little creature, and it hurt like Hell.

[False Awakening #2]

Once again, though, I woke up in my bed. The pest from the dream was nowhere in sight. However, this time, I got out of bed and was met with a dull pain in my leg. Switching on the light, I saw that my leg had bruises in like 6 different places, and it was throbbing. My muscles were progressively tightening, and I could instantly tell that there was venom running through it. I was so confused, though. I knew it had to have been a dream. Right? Hobbling out of bed, I made my way over to my mom's side of the house, surprised to see that she was up this early. My leg was growing worse, when I showed her - dark, black spots showing up, and the skin tightening to where you could start to see the shapes of the tendons. She kind of shrugged it off, and said it would be ok if I just didn't mess with it. More bewildered about the whole thing, than anything else, I just walked back to my room and went back to bed.

[False Awakening #3]

And, once again, I awoke in my bed. The pain in my leg was gone, as was any sign of the bruises. So, naturally, I assumed that it had all just been a dream. But, again, just as I stepped out of bed, I was attacked by the creature from the "previous" dream. It scurried up through my robe and around my back. It never bit me, this time, but its steps were like thousands of thick fingernail jabs, themselves, scrambling all around the upper part of my body. I was able to get a hold of the thing and grab its "legs," holding them open so that they couldn't form the pincers that they had, before. This thing was strong, like a tiny bear trap, but I held the tendrils open, again making my way to show it to my mom. By this time, I didn't know WTF was going on, and I just wanted to know that I wasn't going crazy. On my way out of my room, I passed my pet dog...oblivious to the fact that I don't actually have a pet dog. I did, however, think that it was strange that I recognized the dog as the little dog who'd gotten killed, in the "first" dream. Unfortunately, I already had my hands full, and I didn't stop long enough to realize this as a dream sign. Instead, I took the creature over to my mom's room to show her. She looked down at my hands, then back up at me, then back down at my hands. She said..."that's just dead skin," with a confused look of concern on her face. I looked down, and saw that she was right. I was just holding a handful of what looked like gator hide.

By this time, I thought I'd completely lost my mind. Apparently, my mom did, too. She cocked an eyebrow at me and said "Uhh...I have some pills or something...if you need them?" implying that she was afraid I'd completely cracked. Puzzled beyond all hope, I just turned around and walked back to my room. I kept thinking about 'Inception' and that, maybe, the idea had somehow been planted into my mind that this spider-thing existed, when it really didn't. I just felt really defeated by my lack of understanding of the whole thing, and I just went back to sleep.

The next thing I knew, it was the middle of the day. I was talkin with some guys I was unfamiliar with, whom my mom had let into the house. Throughout the time they were here, we'd gotten into smoking. We pretty much just hung around the house for a while, and I tried telling them about the dreams I'd been having lately - about the crazy little monster thing. Nobody seemed all that interested, though. Later, the same guys and I were heading out, somewhere. We'd gotten into the car, when one of them said he left something inside the house, tossing a huge bag of smoke into the car, before walking back to get whatever it was. I kept yelling at him to hurry up, because I didn't want to be just sitting here, with the huge sack in the car. He was just taking his sweet time, though, and it was annoying the hell out of me.

Of course, just as I was beginning to suspect there might be cops nearby, I heard "WOOP-WOOP," a siren barking at us from behind. I actually can't remember if I was driving or not, but we sped off, down the road, with the cops chasing us. We were driving in a slick sports car, and just hauling ass, but they were catching up. (Been playing a bit of Grand Theft Auto, also. Haha.) The guy next to me started freaking out and dumping all kinds of contraband out the window - everything from weed to small bags of cocaine which I didn't even know were in the car. In a quick, 3rd-person view, I saw the white powder blowing all over the people on the sides of the road. It was actually pretty hilarious. Suddenly, back in first-person, I got an idea. We pulled over, and I waited for the cops to come within a stone's-throw from our tail, before chucking a bag of coke at their windshield, at the last moment. It blotted out most of the glass, and they ended up swerving to miss our car and crashing into some nearby pedestrians. Then, for the first time, after all of this chaos, I realized just how absurd all of this actually was. I realized that this had to be a dream.

The other guy in the car was still freaking out, telling me that we had to get the hell out of there. I just laughed and told him to relax, stepping over to the crashed police SUV. Gathering all my focus, I reached a fist up over my head and swung it downward, trying to destroy the engine block, like I'd done to other cars, in previous lucid dreams. This time, though, I was only able to dent the hood. It was a little more superhuman than waking life, but not what I expected. I tried a few more times, swinging heavy punches at the hood and grille, but I couldn't get any more damage than about what a baseball bat might have done. Needless to say, I wasn't very happy with this. I was determined, though. I kept thinking that the cops might try to shoot me, through the windshield, but I was already prepared to either dodge the bullets or just let them hit me. Thinking that there had to be some other way to get through to the engine, the idea just kind of struck me: A light-saber! I had never created one, while lucid, so I figured that this would be a good time to try. Holding my hands up, beside me, as if gripping a sword, I tried to materialize the weapon out of thin air, imaging it growing to length. Nothing happened, though. The dream was very vivid, and I was having a hard time controlling it.

As if by my cue, the cop in the passenger seat held up a blue light-saber of his own, grinning behind the powder-covered windshield. Now, even more determined to have one, I made a motion as if it was already in my hand, stabbing directly at the grille while trying hard to visualize the weapon coming into existence. Finally, I saw the orange glow. The tip of the blazing saber burned into the grill like it was paper, eating through the metal and sinking further into the engine block. I gave a quick tug of my arms, drawing the blade sideways and widening the hole, completely putting the truck out of commission. My accomplice and I then hopped back in the car and prepared to take off again but, instead, I simply woke up for real.

(After a few reality checks - which I should have done, the first few times I 'woke up' - I got up and started jotting notes down.

This felt like a B6-enhanced dream - very vivid and chaotic - but I didn't take any B6 before bed. Most likely, it was the Reese's Cups I ate, late last night. It would have been nice to just have had a bad-ass lucid, but all that shit with the spider-creature-thing just made the whole thing unpleasant. It was still early as hell, but I didn't bother going back to sleep, after this one.)

"Psycho-Science Incorporated" - 04/19/2021 (Lucid)

"Psycho-Science Incorporated"
04/19/2021
(Lucid)

(There were a lot of parallels between the building in this dream, and the AAA Headquarters building, where I previously worked. It was a large, scenic office building, shared by two associate entities, with a sort of mirrored architecture, where the front and back sides of the building were almost identical. I'd also fallen asleep after playing some Final Fantasy VII Remake, which my girlfriend rightly acknowledged might have influenced the whole "bio-engineering" aspect of the dream.)

Working in the "front side" of this expansive office building, in this dream, my crew and I really hadn't much knowledge of what went on in the company that shared the opposite end of the complex. I remember vague footage of them having a mysterious CEO who was known for going on these periodic "retreats," where he would just disappear for a while, with no contact with the rest of the world. Not long after one of these announcements had been made, I found myself having to get around to the back side of the building (for some reason I can't remember), and deciding to just walk through the other company's office space, instead of going around the entire perimeter, outside.

I pushed in the two, heavy doors that separated us via a connecting hallway, and immediately stepped into a large, white room (which looked a lot like some of the broader phone rooms in the AAA building). Trying not to make too much of a spectacle of myself, I quickly shuffled through the room, toward the far wall, maybe 50 yards away from where I'd entered. It was only when I was about halfway through the room that I began to take notice of my surroundings and the employees within it. Each employee was standing at their own podium, in paralleled formations on opposite sides of the room. They were wearing lab coats and each working on their own specific projects. The further that I got into the room, the more I began to take in what it looked like they were doing.

On each podium was some sort of grotesque, bio-engineering experiment. Everything from animals to human babies were being unceremoniously dissected and spliced with other organisms or mechanizations. I was so stunned by what I was seeing, that by the time I'd progressed to a reasonable level of concern, I was already on the far side of the large room, and in front of the elevator. Not 100% sure that I walked into it on my own accord, I'm feeling more that I was sort of ushered, hurriedly into the elevator. Whatever the case, it was taking me down (into what would have been the parking garage, at my old job).

When the elevator door opened, I was in a dimly-lit, industrial area. It took a moment - and a few steps inside - before I realized that this wasn't a parking garage, at all. There was a sense of dread, here, as I looked around, spotting blood-stained walls and steel-barred holding stations. Still in a state of shock, my feet were carrying me around this room, even though I instantly knew that I shouldn't be here. It wasn't until a few moments later, that I began to notice the severed body parts and other human remains that were strewn about the ground. This place was a dungeon, and it was a thousand times worse than anything I was seeing on the surface. Just when I was finally about to make my turn to get the hell out of this place, I was cornered by some agency employees, standing between me and the elevator. Once I made it blatantly clear to them that I was going to be leaving this place - one way or another - the employees brought in backup. That backup came in the form of a grizzly bear-sized human / dog chimera; it was a disgusting-looking creature that resembled a gigantic, human baby with pale, hairless skin and facial features that looked like they were constantly mutating from human, to dog - and back again - like molding clay which was constantly being sculpted as the creature stepped passed the line of employees and lumbered toward me.

I can't quite recall how violent the encounter was, but I know that I was able to fight like Hell and was soon scrambling into the elevator and making my way back up to the ground floor. Once back in the large, main room, I shuffled quickly across the office / lab, trying to keep a low profile, despite my state of terror, but I could clearly see the more-menacing stares coming from the other employees as they looked up at me from their experiments.

Only slightly relieved to be out of that lab, I was able to make it back to my company's portion of the building, frantically trying to explain to everyone about the evil, twisted corporation we shared space with. No one seemed the slightest bit interested, though. However, at some point during my ranting, I realized the absurdity of the entire situation. Eventually, I realized that this was all a dream and became lucid.

As is often the case, when I become lucid during some sort of "big bad" situation such as this, I began to set my mind on walking right back into that office and laying waste to their entire operation. Sure, I knew it was just a dream, but that's a level of satisfaction that I can rarely turn down. This time, instead of walking through the building, I decided to go around the perimeter and approach the other company from the outside. Apparently, though, many of my coworkers had gotten intrigued by my mission, and they'd formed a very large entourage behind me which, oddly, included my mother and one of my cousins. I wasn't sure what kind of Hell was going to break loose, once I started to storm this place, so I tried to lead the pack and get the rest of my dream character posse to hang back, while I scoped things out. My mother and cousin, though, especially, seemed a little too gung-ho and started trying to rush their way inside and to the nearest elevator.

Despite my warnings, they hopped into the elevator, and I ran in with them. We were taken back down to the basement. The first thing I saw, once we stepped into the dungeon-esque holding facility, was an employee mutilating a young woman who seemed to be coming off of her sedative. The coat-clad man was taking a saw to one of her legs and just mercilessly grinding away on it, tearing through the flesh and bone as she wailed in agony. The intensity of the scenario kept making me lose focus and forget that I was dreaming, prompting us to get caught by armed guards and taken to what looked like a small classroom or presentation room, surrounded by men with rifles. While being shoved down into a seat, I began to suspect, again, that I was dreaming. Motioning toward a nearby chair with a point of my index finger, I attempted to move the chair with my mind. It took a couple of discrete attempts, but I was able to nudge it with telekinesis, confirming to me, once again, that I was dreaming.

Immediately, I reached my hand out in front of me and focused on one of the armed men across the room, snatching the rifle out of his hand with telekinesis and pulling it over to me. When I caught the weapon and began to fire upon all of the guards, the gun was shooting large, plastic cannon balls, with heavy *chunk* *chunk* sounds, like the cannon games you might find at a carnival game booth. With this gun being pretty much harmless, I tried to snatch an even more high-tech looking gun from another guard, from yards away. Once I caught his gun, I could see that it was actually just a high-tech video camera. Finding it useless, I simply decided to rely on my telekinesis and starting throwing guards this way and that, around the room, while all of my tag-alongs escaped.

We fanned out through the office building, trying to find the exit, ending up near the expansive, wall-length windows that I had seen, upon my first entry into the lab - though it was now dark, outside. Unable to find a door to let us out, I walked over to one of the windows and slid one finger across it, trying to slice my way through the glass like a razor. As vivid as this dream was, though, I was unable to gain that level of control. Instead, I placed both hands upon the glass and began to vibrate them quickly, attempting to shatter the glass, rather than cutting through it. This was much easier, and a large panel of the glass wall smashed to the floor, allowing us all to flood out into the parking lot.

We all converged on our side of the building, and I began to lose lucidity again while we talked about our experiences inside. One girl - sobbing - said "look what they did to me!" She, then, held up her bloody, severed forearm, showing that they'd already began chopping her up, as they'd done the other girl that I'd seen in the basement. Suddenly, more armed guards came streaming out of the building and opened fire on our entire group. We scattered, once again, and I'd happened to catch a glimpse of the CEO from earlier in the dream, watching us - discretely - from atop a bicycle, beneath a nearby tree, as if he'd just been observing this whole ordeal. Remembering his face from before, I once again remembered that this was all a dream. My lucidity had returned, and the last thing I remember was - once again - storming back over to the building and the armed guards now waiting outside, with the intention to continue to take them on.

"Vamps vs Lycans" - 05/10/2009

"Vamps vs. Lycans"
05/10/2009
Dream #1

(I went to sleep trying my AVID method of dream incubation, watchin/listening to the movie Underworld: Rise of the Lycans. I didn't get lucid, but I did have a related dream, so the incubation was successful, at least.)

I was a vampire in the dream, but not the strictly humanoid-looking vamps. There was a whole community of us, and we could transform into giant, bat-like creatures, kind of like Marcus, from Underworld: Evolution. It was just barely dusk, and we were all out in the woods. We got word that the lycanthropes were coming to battle us and, shortly after learning of their advance, they were streaming in from all angles. Immediately, the scene erupted into chaos, and we transformed and went into battle. There was a lot of slashing and biting, but I don't remember too much of the intricate details of the fight. I do remember that I had a wife and son, somewhere in the fray, and I had to try to keep them out of harm's way, as much as I could. At one point during the attack, I was knocked into a small pond, which gave me added anxiety, because I didn't know what kind of mythical beasts I would encounter in the water. (It was almost a waking-level fear of what "could be" under the surface.) The water was dark and murky, and I knew I had to get out as quick as I could. Almost frantically, I scrambled out of the (seemingly more-treacherous) pond and went back into the fray.

My wife had our son in her arms and was trying to get away to safety. Before I could get back over to them, they, too, were knocked into another small pond. Leaving the escalating battle, I ran over to them and she gave me her hand. I was pulling them out, when I heard her scream (or give an animalian shriek. I can't remember), and she was yanked out of my grasp and back into the water. Something had a hold of her. I jumped into the water, and saw that there was a long, bone-plated serpent creature pulling them under. I jumped on it and began wrestling with it, forcing it to let go. With my arms around it, I managed to drag it up and out of the water, then I swung the entire length of the beast up over my head, and back down at the ground with such a force that it landed flat, shattering all of its exoskeleton and dying on impact.

We were grossly outnumbered by the lycans, though, and had to retreat from the battle.

Later, we found ourselves in a more civilized location. We had returned to our human forms and were, somehow, able to walk around in the daylight. I can't remember exactly what happened here, but some woman (my wife, in human form, I think - not sure though) was used as bait to try to trap me. We were near a boat dock, and the lycans had shown up again. I still can't remember how it happened, but the woman and I were knocked off of the dock and into the water. While underwater, I sprouted my wings and swam to the surface, flaring them out of the water and lifting myself into the air. I saw no sign of the woman coming up, so I dove down toward the water like a seagull diving for fish, reaching out and grabbing her hand, and then flapping my wings to raise us both out of the water again.

I placed her down on the dock, landed, and ran back in to continue this second fight with the lycans, and that's all I can remember.

"Fire-breathing Fire" - 07/10/2020 (Lucid)

"Fire-breathing Fire"
07/10/2010
(Lucid)

From my earliest memory of this dream, I was lucid. I was on some crazy, roller-coaster type of track, with my daughter. The coaster had no cars, and we were actually running on the tracks and around the areas that the tracks had connected to one another. Surrounding the pillars of mountains and concrete structures, stretched an endless, blue ocean, and the tracks we were running on were apparently suspended over the water by nothing. We ran on these thin rails with breakneck, video game-like speed, zipping around corners and up hills. I held her hand, and she followed close behind me. Sometimes we would jump off the tracks, without breaking stride, and run around, exploring the hills and buildings, before jumping back onto the tracks and continuing on our way. At different intervals, our tracks would sometimes come to a break, and we'd have to jump onto parallel tracks, to avoid falling into the infinite ocean below us. (It all felt very Sonic the Hedgehog-ish). She was in awe of the whole thing and wondered how we were able to do this. I told her that we were lucid dreaming, but didn't go into her being a DC. I don't believe it really crossed my mind, to any significant degree.

My recall skips ahead, and I'm was back at my old home, in Canterbury, and still lucid. I walked into the room which used to be my parents', and my dad was in there. I told him to check me out, and I started levitating in front of him. He just watched for a moment, and I bounced slowly around the room, from walls to ceiling and floor, as if I was filled with helium - lightly pushing my hands off the ceiling to make myself float down, the other way. He asked how I was doing it, and I explained the whole lucid thing to him, even going so far as to tell him about how he wasn't real and was just a DC - which I hadn't done with my daughter. He was just astonished, and he started rubbing his hands all over everything in the room - from the bed to the dresser and back again. When he sat down on the bed, I focused my mind on it and levitated it slowly to the ceiling. The bed actually touched flat against the ceiling, and when I lowered it, my dad was nowhere to be found. I tried to turn around and summon him, but he just wouldn't show up. Then, I remembered what had happened, during one of the last times I was standing in this room, while lucid. (I had accidentally summoned my old friend, MW, after I had spent the whole dream trying to get rid of him.) So, seeing if I could kick-start my summoning ability by doing something familiar, I tried to summon MW again, by expecting him to just walk around the corner and into the room. No dice. Frustrated, I turned back to look at the room - trying of thinking of something else to do - and, lo and behold, MW was already sitting on the bed, looking at me with this stupid grin as if to say; "You rang?"

Even more frustrated at his comically-sarcastic entrance, I just smirked at him and turned back around, leading him out of the room. We walked out of the house, through the carport door - by this time, having abandoned my intention to summon my dad again - and there was a bunch of other people playing in the street. The first thing that caught my eye was the moon, being that it was the only thing in the night sky. I focused on the moon and moved it just slightly, testing my control over it. I, then, concentrated and attempted to turn it into a replica of the Earth. I don't remember what the actual morph looked like, but it was soon a spitting image of our planet, so far as I could tell. Finally, I yanked on the orb, telekinetically, and pulled it out of the sky. The planet - scaled to about the size of a mini-van, and still glowing as if it were lit by the sun, from within - thudded heavily onto the street and rolled about, between the group of onlookers. They all started playing with it, as if it were a giant medicine ball.

I had left the group, and was soon sitting in my truck, in front of my house. Someone, parked nearby, was having car trouble. I believe it was MW again. He asked me if I had AAA and, as soon as the question left his lips, a tow-truck came pulling up behind us. We got out of our vehicles and began to go over to talk to the toe truck driver, when something caught my eye. I looked over toward the dark backdrop of the bayou behind my old house, and there was a snake-like flame, about the size of a man, dancing toward us from under a tall tree. As it got closer, I could see that it was a dragon. A dragon made of fire. It had a snake-like body, which stood up like a cobra - nearly as tall as I was - and it was a mean sum'bitch. It was undeniably badass, though; made out of a smokeless fire that blazed all around what looked to be a reflective, multi-colored body, beneath. It kept spitting flames at all of us, and I stepped in the way, standing in one of the flames. I didn't create a shield, as I'd done in my first lucid dragon encounter, but I just stood there and let it breathe fire all over me. To my surprise, it was actually pretty hot, but nothing too intense. Finally, in the middle of its assault, I held up my hands in front of me and took control of the dragon's body, with my mind. Waving my arms a little, to guide the mental movements, I literally tied the dragon's long, serpentine body into a knot with telekinesis, as if he were some big, flaming balloon animal. I then flicked my head in one direction and threw the dragon off to one side, discarding it.

Looking around, for something else to do, I tried to make some mushroom clouds erupt up and out of the midnight horizon. Some smaller explosions blasted through the nearby neighborhood, but nothing on the scale of what I was trying to accomplish. Along the ditch nearby, I could see some kids playing in the field. It had looked as if they were playing, at least. Then, I saw that they were, actually, running from the police. A squad car had driven up onto the grass and was chasing the kids through the field, heading in my direction. Having nothing more pressing to do with my lucidity, I sat and watched, waiting to see what would happen next. Out of nowhere, now about 50 yards away, the kids all drew pistols and opened fire into the squad car. The cops didn't even have a chance to react. Riddled with bullets, the squad car kept approaching me, sirens blaring, and cut a sharp turn into the soil. This caused the car to flip over once, passing me and coming to rest on it's rooftop, a couple of feet to my left. I couldn't even see the actual cops inside the wreckage. All I saw was a huge splatter of blood on the windshield, foretelling their fate. (I had been playing GTA, before bed, and that's what the whole ordeal felt like.)

I knew that I would be waking up soon, so I started going over the events of the dream in my mind, recalling as much as I could, before making that transition from dreaming to waking life. Something else began to happen, in the field, but I decided to pay no attention to it and jump out of the dream, while the events, so far, were still fresh in my mind.

"Infestation" - 10/24/2007 (FA+Lucid)

"Infestation"

Dream #3
(False Awakening)
(Lucid)

I woke up (from the previous dream) in a false awakening, idly looking beside me and noticing that I still had the bubble gum packet in my hand. I was like "WTF?! I brought this out of the dream world?!" (... ) I didn't even realize that this had to be a false awakening. Tearing open the packet and thinking I would find some hashish (as I had, in the previous dream), I was pretty disappointed to find...chocolate. Nothing but little squares of chocolate.

I turned around to face the rest of my room and noticed that fellow DreamViews member and friend, TwoShadows, was there, just sitting on a chair and watching TV. Again, I didn't even realize that this was weird, and we just started talking and watching whatever program was on, as I continued to lay in the bed. Suddenly, I felt this searing pain in my leg. It felt like a fire-ant bite, but it was moving, traveling slowly around my leg. I reached down and smacked whatever it was, flicking it off of me. Looking down at the ground, I saw this tiny, dead, black ant. I said to myself "there is no way that this little thing caused that kind of pain. Black ants don't bite and ant bites are stationary, anyway." Just when I said this, I noticed something else on the floor, out of the corner of my eye. Before I could train my eyes onto what it was, I felt another searing pain in the palm of my hand. When I lifted my hand, there was this odd, little, disc-shaped bug, with legs like tree roots and with green and orange markings on its back, walking across it. Everywhere its "feet" touched was like fire touching my skin. I freaked out and brushed the thing off of me. When I looked back at the floor, I saw two more - then four more. I felt another pain on my leg and jumped out of my bed. TS was on a chair that barely touched the ground, so I figured that she'd be alright, for the short time that it took me to run to the bathroom and make sure these damn things weren't all over me.

In the bathroom, I brushed myself down with a towel and found two of them. These two were, easily, four times the size of the other ones, and they were absolutely alien-looking. I smashed them both and looked at my hand and leg. There were these bulbous, purple welts that were already sticking up. I was still in some serious pain, but knew I had to get TS out of the room. Just when I stepped out of the bathroom, she yelled something like "Something just bit the Hell out of me," stepping out, in the hallway and holding her arm. I said I didn't know what the hell these things were, but they were like nothing I've ever seen before. We both ran to the other side of the house, and I was about to get some sort of pesticide from under the kitchen sink, when my mom came running out of her room, too, holding her arm and saying "something just bit me!" Immediately, I realized that these things were all over the house. I also knew that there was something wrong about all of this.

As is customary, for when I have time to think, during a dire situation such as this, I started wondering whether or not this was a dream. Without doing any reality checks, to confirm it, I assumed this had to be a dream, and I just wanted the pain to stop. I took the hunch that this was an unreal situation, and made the gesture to open my waking world eyes, which succeeded in waking me up.

(When I woke up, my palm still stung. My leg still stung. It actually took a little while before the pain to go away, which made me wonder whether or not I was still dreaming. I did a few reality checks, though, and the mental pain subsided, leading me to believe that it was just sensory residue from the dream, which happens, from time to time. That dream was messed up, though. My skin has been crawling, the whole time I've been writing this journal entry.)

"Big Bad Hellhound" - 10/04/2020 (Lucid)

"Big Bad Hellhound"
10/4/2020
(Lucid)

(This dream was obviously brought on by a mish-mash of games that my girlfriend and I had been playing, this weekend, as well as the movie "Shazam," which we'd watched last night.)

I was with my girlfriend, and a few other people, hanging out in someone's home. "A Nightmare on Elm Street" was coming on TV, and my girlfriend said that she had always wanted to see what it was all about, and that she was interested in watching it. Immediately, this struck me as weird, because she is certainly not the "horror movie type," in general. I tried to warn her against it, saying that the movie contained some pretty insanely-disturbing imagery, and that she may not know what she's quite getting herself into. She didn't care and insisted on watching it, so we just let the movie play. The only thing I remember were a couple of brief scenes (that are not actually in the movie). One, where someone - likely Freddy, in disguise - was gorily ripping an entire electric guitar out of someone's body, tearing it out through their chest cavity, and another, where a man, possessed by another entity which had manifested itself as a second head on his neck, was forcefully trying to push the head back down into the skin of his collar. (This was reminiscent of some of the Seven Deadly Sins manifestations, in "Shazam.") Before long, my girlfriend was saying that she had enough, and didn't want to watch anymore.

There was a shift in narrative, here, where the entire scenario became some sort of horror-movie, itself. I was trapped in the house (not sure where my girl and the others had gone), and I was trying to escape some sort of killer stalking around, inside. For some reason (that I can't recall), I couldn't go out the front door, as it was like I wasn't "allowed" to be in the home, or something, and couldn't alert the homeowners that I was there. Anyway, I ended up escaping through a back window, and out into the neighborhood, at night. There was an oversized pick-up truck, basically doing donuts in the street, and a young woman came running up the sidewalk, telling me - as she passed - that she had to sneak back into the house I'd just left, because she'd left some sort of item there. It all felt very much like an MMO game kind of encounter, where players are all just off doing their own thing, and often crossing paths, along the way. Then, when I started thinking about where I was going to go, next, a full-on map HUD display popped up in my field of view, as if I was playing a game. (Specifically, it looked like the map from "Dying Light," which my girl and I had played.) I could see that I was on an island, with no way out, and my mind apparently rationalized that I had completed my objective - escaping the house - and that I had to kind of "exit" the whole setting, as if returning to the lobby, after a game.

Suddenly, I was attacked on the street, by some lumbering person. (I want to say that it was a zombie, but I can't be sure.) While trying to fight off the attack, I could see something like one of the "QuickTime" animation buttons showing up in my field of view, as if I had to repeatedly press a button, in order to escape the attacker's clutches. The more I panicked, the faster this gauge was moving, and I could see little flashes of light forming in my field of view. At this very moment, I knew that my way of "escape" was to "wake up," and that the little flashes of light were my eyes trying to open up into the real world. However, though this was "lucid dreaming" logic, I don't feel that I ever got fully 'lucid,' at all and I was just going through the motions of trying to wake myself up.

Immediately, the entire scenario shifted, again, and this time, I was watching some unknown character wake up, on a television screen. He jolted up out of bed, as if awakening from a nightmare. I was now in a different house, along with some of my closest waking life friends, and we were huddled around the TV, watching whatever movie this was. Sooner or later, we had left the house and were walking around, outside. Again, it was night out, and it was eerily foggy. Judging by the architecture of the streets around us, everything had a sort of an Old Germany / Western Europe feel to it. (We had also been playing "Zombie Army Trilogy.") We'd discovered a pack of "demon-dogs" that were roaming the streets, and we had to sneak, stealthily, around them, to avoid getting spotted. However, when turning onto another, misty back alley, we'd seen a group of the dogs at the far end, and they saw us, as well. What was worse, though, was when we watched what looked like a group of tall trees shift into focus, through the mist, behind the dogs. Though I couldn't see the tops of the "trees," through the fog, I quickly became aware that these weren't trees, at all. They were *legs*. Specifically, they were the legs of another, enormous, demon dog. This one, though, was well over 50-feet tall - like a giant Hell Hound of a gritty anime, brought to life.

The beast belted out a wall-shaking roar and thundered into a sprint toward us. Naturally, we turned and ran the other way, fully aware that we were not going to be able to outrun this thing. Finally, coming to the end of the road - in the form of a high bridge or overpass, we instinctively dove over the railing, turning back while in the air, just in time to see the massive jaws of the gigantic beast snapping shut just, a few feet over our heads. Inevitably, though, we continued to fall away, off of the elevated road, and down toward what would have been a certain death.

But - just like that - I was back with my friends, again, roaming the streets of this foggy, old-world environment, slipping around in the dark, to hide from the demon dogs. Then, just as before, we saw the towering legs of the "alpha," stepping out of the fog. It sprinted at us, once again, but before turning to run, I remembered that this had happened before. Still, instinctively, I ran, bolting down the street, with my friends, away from the towering hound behind us. Glancing at the builds that flanked us, I remembered a conversation my girlfriend and I had been having (the night before), about wall-running in a video game.

Suspecting, now, that I was merely in a dream, I shifted my sprint to the right and took a few, diagonal steps up the wall beside me, twisting into an acrobatic flip and - somehow - dodging the enormous dog that had been chasing us. Afterward the dog was either destroyed by us, or simply disappeared, altogether (though I can't remember which).

Shortly after ridding ourselves of the beast, my friends and I were talking about what had happened. I don't recall much of the dialogue, but I specifically telling them about my having to wake up, so that I could remember everything that went on, in the dream. The last thing I remember of the scenario was one of my friends telling a hilarious joke that had everyone cracking up, just as I was purposefully pulling myself out of the dream and waking myself up.

(I'm not sure, but I believe this one might have resulted in an actual false awakening, because I remember waking up with my laughter actually carrying over from the dream, and into waking life. My girlfriend was lying beside me, as usual, but I didn't get out of bed. I just relaxed, as if to drift back off to sleep. Then, moments later, I was waking up, again. I still don't know if the laughing bit was real or another dream, though, so I'm not counting it as a false awakening in this journal entry.)

Space Rock Fairy - 02/26/2020 ( Lucid)

Space Rock Fairy
02/26/2020
Dream #1
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember is being at a pool party, some time around dusk. There were people both inside and outside the home, and things had started off fairly normally. This changed, though, when we were suddenly put on alert that there was a series of asteroids headed toward Earth, with projections of eminent impact. Not much longer had I received this news, than I realized that most of the people from the pool party had simply vanished. The few people left in the home told me that the others had escaped into an underground bunker and, apparently, we had been left behind.

From outside, a series of loud explosions began to shake the home. The asteroid bombardment had begun. I knew that this house would get flattened, and that I had to find some way to shield myself from the falling masses. Perhaps counter-intuitively, I ran outside. I was as if bombs were detonating across the neighborhood, as the flaming rocks began to level the neighborhood. From where I was standing, and at the angle from which the asteroids were incoming, I could see that I might have a chance of blocking their trajectory, if I jumped into the pool and flattened myself against the forward-facing wall. There was no other shelter, around.

Having little time for doubt, I dove into the water, holding my breath and ducking against the wall of the pool. The asteroid onslaught continued around me, and I could hear them crashing onto the pool deck and see them falling into the water, just out of reach of me, the 6-to-8-foot wall providing the slightest bit of cover. I was, however, running into another problem. I was running out of breath, and I knew I couldn't stay here, forever. (I am a recreational free-diver, and I can hold my breath for a good while, but that wasn't going to help me, in this situation.)

Luckily, just as I was weighing the necessity of me coming out of hiding, in order to breathe, I realized that I already could breathe! I immediately knew that I was dreaming. No longer fearing the asteroid catastrophe, I crawled out of the pool and stood on the deck, looking up at the sky. The asteroids were still raining down, and I could see that they looked very polished and low-res - almost 'video game-like'. Reaching my hands up, and focusing my mind, I began deflecting away the asteroids with telekinesis, causing them to either break apart, on impact with the invisible barrier over my head, or to spin off course, missing me and the house, and crashing somewhere else in the neighborhood.

By this time, the pool party-goers were starting to re-emerge, many of them crowding around the pool to watch me fight off the asteroids. It was then, that I saw a winged creature - similar to a moth, but about the size of a small dog - come frantically spiraling down from the same direction of the falling rocks. It flew around the yard, erratically, and I, still aware this was a dream, was fascinated by it. I ran after it and caught it in my hands, wrestling with the creature as it tried to escape my grasp. Though I knew I had nothing to fear, just holding this wriggling, squirming, giant insect in my hands was rather disturbing, but I held on, nonetheless.

On the patio, nearby, I found a large container made out of a kind of glass or transparent plastic, and I was able to trap the creature inside. It fluttered within, with such a force that it broke one of the side panels, but before it could escape, I pushed back against the box with telekinesis and was able to keep it shut. The people gathered around this box and we just stared at this creature, watching it bounce around, inside. Curiosity was getting the better of me, and I began to wonder what this thing would say if it could talk. Softening any expectations I might have, I attempted to "will" the creature into speaking English, to see if it would communicate with us. My expectations were successfully subverted, as this thing turned into a full-on, apparently female, fairy.

Still small enough to fit in the box, the panicked fairy began shouting a warning to us: she said that she was an alien creature, and her very powerful father had been chasing her across the cosmos. If we didn't let her go, she said, her father would inevitably find her and, upon doing so, would likely destroy the planet, just out of spite. Of course, had this been any other scenario, I would have been terrified at this new development. However, since I was fully lucid, and feeling quite confident in my dream control, I thought this was awesome, and I couldn't wait to meet the guy!

Seconds later, a sleek, black object descended from the sky. It was a smooth, almost teardrop-shaped vessel, which slowly landed in the yard, just beside the pool. A ship. One side of the object opened up, and an enormous, shadowy-black figure emerged from within. He stood around 10 feet tall, and had red, glowing eyes, though I couldn't really make out any of his other features, even in the fading sunlight. (He reminded me a bit of the character Trigon, from DC's Titans, though as little more than a silhouette.)

Unfortunately, I started to lose lucidity, around here. I remember having a brief conversation with this "monster," and I was able to trick him into thinking that his daughter had passed up Earth and gone to some other planet. Sooner or later, he up and left, without incident. Upon his departure, the fairy came out of hiding, and the last thing I remember her saying was something about how pissed he was going to be, when he realizes he'd been duped and comes back around.
