06/01/2023 - "The Batfather" (Lucid)

"The Batfather"
06/01/2023
(Lucid)

I was Bruce Wayne, in this dream, and the first thing I remember is being attending a seedy, Mafia-style meeting in a penthouse, discussing the political side of crime in the city. Apparently married to Selina Kyle aka Catwoman (as they are, now, in the comics), who was in the meeting with me, she and I had a daughter together, who was waiting for us outside of the building. During the meeting, which seemed to comprise more of the city's gangsters than lawmakers, Selina and I had received a phone call from our daughter, urging us to come downstairs, seemingly due to some kind of emergency. There was an enormous window, on one side of the room, out of which we could see a large gothic cemetery that was directly across the street from the building. Our daughter - probably in her early 20's - was sitting solemnly on top of a grave with her phone in hand. It didn't really look like she was in any danger, so we figured she probably just wanted to talk about something pressing, but we couldn't get her to tell us what it was.

Excusing ourselves from the meeting, momentarily, Selina and I went downstairs to find out what was going on. We were dressed in all black, and walking over to the cemetery felt more like we were attending a funeral than a business meeting. When we got to our daughter, it was obvious that she was just beside herself with grievance, as if she was actually mourning someone buried beneath her. What she told us, though, in the most entitled and melodramatic way possible, was that she was lamenting over some feud with her "social rival," wherein her rival, somehow, taken away our daughter's ability to purchase her favorite bread. It was literally in the context of the other girl having had our daughter's favorite sandwich shop shut down, or something like that, and our daughter was just in the deepest throws of depression about it. At one point, during her overemotional rant, she even started singing some sort of popular emo song, practically in tears, while changing the lyrics on the fly, into an improvised solemn ballad about the loss of her favorite comfort food. (It was actually kind of hilarious, how over the top she was being. Lol).

At first, I tried to give her some fatherly advice, about just "letting it go" (and I was genuinely surprised at the sound of my own voice, when I talked to her, because I actually sounded like Kevin Conroy's Batman, instead having a more mundane "Bruce Wayne" voice), but she wasn't trying to hear any of it. Despite my attempts to make her feel better, or more accepting, she simply scoffed, disappointedly, and gave me a sort of "so...what are we going to do about this?" gesture. It was clear, she wanted retribution.

Even though Selina and I thought she was being excessively dramatic...we were not about to let our "little girl" down. We just kind of looked at each other and Selina just shrugged her shoulders, with a grin, and nodded her head as if to say "well...that settles it." As if the grave the younger woman was sitting on was intimately connected to our family, Selina pressed a hidden button on the large, ornate headstone, and a secret compartment opened up before us, revealing a massive cache of high-end firearms and other weaponry. The three of us took a few moments stocking up on enough weapons to invade a town, and making sure our ammunition was fully stocked. I remember having a hard time pulling the slide back on one of my semi-auto handguns. After a bit of effort, I was finally able to chamber around. However, the moment I did, the entire gun just fell apart in my hands, like it was a LEGO model.

Laughing at the frustrating time I was having, Selina cracked a joke about how we were all going to have to "fight naked," if I didn't hurry up and get my gear in order. Just as she said this, as if on cue, a black luxury car came speeding onto the cemetery lawn, from the nearby street. It slid to a stop, not far from us, and a man and woman jumped out of the front seats. It was, apparently, our daughter's rival and her rival's boyfriend, and they were already looking for trouble. Immediately, and with devilishly delighted expressions on their faces, they both took up their own weapons - the young woman wielding machine pistols while the guy dropped down to one knee and held up a full-sized RPG launcher. Wasting no time, he fired the weapon and a single rocket streamed into across the street, almost parallel to us, and slammed into the large upper-floor window of the building we had just come out of, setting off a massive explosion and, presumably, killing everyone attending the meeting inside. The woman, herself, just started firing away at us, with her machine pistols, and the three of us had to dive for cover behind the decorative grave. I was still having no luck in getting my guns in working order, while Selina and our daughter started returning shots of their own.

Feeling the impending danger of having these massive firearm malfunctions, I began to deduce that I might be dreaming, but I wasn't 100% sure, just yet. I took a peek around the side of the grave, that I was using for cover, and saw the man loading another RPG into the launcher and take aim at the window again, apparently attempting to "double-tap" the meeting room with another explosion. Knowing he was too far for me to attack him any other way, and banking on my suspicion that I might be dreaming, I lifted my hand at the moment when he fired the weapon, trying to cause the rocket to veer off-course with telekinesis.

I was both shocked and relieved, when the rocket quickly changed direction and crashed down to a spot on the far end of the cemetery. Immediately, I became lucid without any doubt I was dreaming. With newfound confidence, I jumped up and hopped over the grave, watching the man pull out his own set of sub-machine guns and aim them at me. The last thing I remember from the dream is rushing toward him in a full sprint, holding a hand out in front of me and deflecting his hail of gunfire with more telekinesis and closing the distance between us. I woke up before being able to reach him, though.

"ScarletVision" - 05/19/2022 (w/ Lucid False Awakening)

"ScarletVision"
05/19/2022
(w/ Lucid False Awakening)

In this dream, I was a disembodied observer (like watching a movie), following a street-level detective, as he went around investigating the murders of innocent people by Wanda Maximoff aka "The Scarlet Witch." I don't remember a whole lot of the detail from this early, but I recall him going from location to location, analyzing crime scenes and gathering clues like in a noir crime drama. There were multiple victims, killed for unknown reasons, but any pattern telling why remained unclear. Over time, the detective was starting to get the feeling that something wasn't right about his situation. Things weren't adding up, and there were a lot of unrealistic scenarios that were playing out. He began to deduce that he couldn't, in fact, be experiencing the real world. The entire scene, then, transitioned.

Instantly, my point of view focused in on a rounded object, lying on a table. I immediately recognized the object to the decapitated head of her android husband, The Vision. My perspective panned out to reveal that the head was sitting on an operating table, in a lab. The lab was dimly lit with a soft, green light, and looked as it would, if someone had simply left for the night. Strewn around the lab, I could see that there was not only the other dismembered pieces of the Vision's body, but that there were also multiple versions of his body - in the same, decimated conditions - lying all over the place.

As my perspective settled on the lab interior, as a whole, I began to see movement in some of the reflective surfaces around the room. I could see brief glimpses of the Scarlet Witch's form - from an arm, in one corner of the lab; to her flowing hair, in another; and a flash of her eyes, in some of the shiny metal equipment, all around. Then, a pair of symbols appeared in a shadowy walkway, which twisted and contorted themselves into a humanoid form, and transformed into Wanda, in full costume. She stared, rather sternly, at the head of Vision that I had first seen, walking over to it.

She began talking to the head, saying something about how she knew that she wasn't going to be able to keep him in there, forever, explaining (in detail that I can't quite remember) how she had pulled in variants of him from other universes, searching for a "particular" version, which she had - since - been holding in an "illusion," in the conscious mind of his severed head, to keep him busy while she did....something. (I don't remember her purpose.) However, she admitted finding that he was figuring it all out, and she knew that she was going to have to release him. With a wave of her hand, the scattered pieces of The Vision, that belonged to that, particular head, swirled themselves together and stood upright, making him whole. Immediately, now in control of himself, he switched from his robotic form to his human-looking form and gazed back at her, in terror.

The two had a back and forth conversation (though I can't remember much of the actual dialogue), that had something to do with Wanda trying to justify her imprisonment of him as a means to them finding a way back to their relationship, someday. Vision, naturally, did not follow her logic, and he knew that she had broken bad. The next thing I remember, he was doing everything he could to escape her, while she gave chase after him.

Vision scurried out of the lab and into a barren, nighttime landscape that was bathed in red light, as if the moon shone almost as intensely as the sun, but gave off the deep, crimson color of an eclipse. There was a large, dark body of water, nearby - like a lake or river - which looked much like blood under the light of the moon (though I could not see the moon, itself. Incidentally, had this dream on the night of a blood red moon, while at sea, on a cruise). Vision scrambled to get away, and kept looking behind him, to see if she was still chasing him. Suddenly, the entire landscape went black, like someone had flipped off the red moonlight with a switch. Seconds later, two glowing red orbs blazed in the blacked-out environment. The redness of the moon then came back into view, illuminating the landscape and revealing the two orbs to be Wanda's eyes as she'd manifested herself right next to Vision, when the world went dark.

She stood just between him and the lake or river, with her back to the water. Vision faced her, defiantly, and she gave him a sort of pitiful look, implying that she knew he would not be able to simply escape her. Vision basically called her out as "evil," and he said something about her being "only one" witch - possibly implying that he (like Ultron) had the ability to split his consciousness into other systems (a point that wasn't specifically made in the dream, I don't think, but it certainly would have fit the character). The Scarlet Witch scoffed and said something like "oh? Only one?" She, then, raised her hands, gesturing as if performing a silent spell.

There was movement in the dark red water, behind her. A figure slowly emerged, walking upright, out of the lake/river, and stepping fully into view. It was another Wanda. Then, on her opposite side, the same disturbance in the water appeared, and yet another Wanda walked onto the shore. Then, another. And another. More and more copies of the Scarlet Witch came creeping, eerily, out of the dark water, some of them crawling onto the rocky shore, on all fours, like zombies rising from the dead. As if that weren't enough, a larger figure stood straight up, in the shallow water - a giant-sized Wanda - lumbering forward, standing at about 15 feet high. Yet another giant doppelganger came forward, shortly afterward.

Vision found himself staring at an entire army of various versions of Wanda, as they lined up in formation, around the original. Noticeably taken aback by this, Vision tried to steel himself and pushed back, saying that these were just illusions, and even though she could make it look like they were all tangible, he knew that there was only one of her. Hardly fazed by this, Wanda's face twisted in a gesture of pure concentration, and suddenly one of the copies began speaking for her, stating that she was able to share her consciousness, as well. Another Wanda, on her other side, began talking also, finishing the comment, but the voice's inflection seeming as if it was coming from a completely different entity - almost like Ultron speaking through his many, individual, drones. Many of the other Wandas began chiming in, with comments of their own, making it horrifyingly clear that - though they were extensions of her original mind - they were all individual and autonomous versions of her. (It was creepy as hell.)

I believe that Vision gave up the bravado and continued trying to escape, but I woke up shortly after this moment....(or...rather...I thought I did).

Pt.2
(Lucid)
(False Awakening)

I "woke up," in the cruise ship cabin's bed. My fiance was sitting up, beside me, awake, and there was a dark-haired woman sitting on the small couch, next to us. At first, I didn't even notice anything strange about the woman being there, as I just began to tell them both about the Scarlet Witch dream I'd been having, and about how crazy and detailed the narrative was. Annoyingly, as I was recalling the experience, the unfamiliar woman kept interrupting me, telling me that nothing I was saying was somehow "shocking" or "unique," and that it was all just rehashing things that were covered in the new "Doctor Strange" movie, of which Wanda was a central character (even though nothing that happened in the dream was actually in that movie)

Frustrated, I started talking down to her about how rude she was being. Then, almost spontaneously, I realized that this was a dream. I caught myself, practically mid-sentence, and scoffed at how I was even wasting my time by trying to argue with her. I blurted out: "you're not even real," dismissing her, as matter-of-factly as I could. She just smirked and stared back at me, challengingly, as if I was talking nonsense. Attempting to prove the point, I held out a hand and focused my mind on her - like I was Darth Vader, trying to lift her from the couch in a Force Choke, with telekinesis. The dream was still very vivid, and nothing seemed to be working, at first. Then, I tried again, concentrating a little less and just trying to "will" it to happened. Instead of lifting her whole body from the couch, though, I saw that her head actually started to come off at the neck!

Having confirmed my suspicion enough, I released my control over the character, and her head lowered back onto its base, the skin of her neck stringing itself back together, seamlessly. Just picking at her, at this point, I began imagining myself pinching at little spots on her face, from afar. I could see the skin being prodded by the fingertips of my mind, until pieces of it started tearing away. It seemed like she was resisting, though, because her skin kept snapping back into place. Eventually, I gave one, solid, telekinetic yank on her face, and her entire face ripped itself free of her skull. However, instead of seeing the gory presence of an exposed skull, beneath, she had another, perfectly intact, face just beneath the original one.

The woman gave a scowl and I saw the pupils of her eyes transform into reptilian slits. She, then, gave an evil smile, trying to intimidate me. Completely confident, by now, that I was in a lucid dream, I just shrugged at her and snickered at her attempt to continue trying to scare me, when the jig was already up. This obviously embarrassed her, because she simply grunted with disgust, stood up from the couch, and walked out of the room.

Finally, not wanting to lose my recollection of all that had happened, I woke myself up, intentionally.

(It was one hell of a ride. I absolutely loved the horror vibe that they gave Wanda in "Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness," and I can see that it left an impression. Haha.)

"They All Fall Down" - 08/16/2021 (Lucid)

"They All Fall Down"
08/16/2021
(Lucid)

(I have been taking in a little mugwort, melatonin and valerian root, before bed, lately, and I've been having far more vivid and lucid dreams. This was one in a trend of clear and stable lucids I've had, recently, and seemed to stretch on for a noticeable while.)

The earliest thing I remember, in this dream, is that I was watching the movie "Little Monsters," in someone's crowded home, and that people kept trying to sit down in the same chair I was in - a chair that was obviously not meant for more than one person. Random people would constantly sit themselves down on one side of me, and then keep scooting over, more and more, until I was practically falling off of the chair. After a while, I just got irritated with it and got up from where I was sitting.

I walked outside, to the patio, where there were more people scattered about. This was obviously a party or cookout, or something, and folks were just hanging around in the yard and on the patio furniture. The dream was very realistic, and I spent quite a while just talking to some of the others - whom seemed familiar, but I could not tell if they were friends or family. Eventually, though, during the idle chit-chat, I started to realize that this was all a dream. Testing the suspicion, I brought a hand up over the wooden picnic table and focused on a mug, levitating it with telekinesis. A young girl, nearby, marveled at the trick, so I kept doing more, flourishing with my lucid powers as if I was a stage magician. A few of the others stopped to watch, before I eventually went back inside the house, to find something else to do.

Finding my way to the kitchen, I noticed something on the floor, practically wedged behind the door. It was about the size of a basketball, and it took me a moment to figure out that it was a human head. It belonged to a blonde woman who seemed to be, maybe, in her 50's, and the weirdest thing was that it didn't seem like it was a decapitated head. It was still attached to the body which, apparently, continued down through the floor, as if she was stuck in the ground, up to her neck, like a "clipping" issue, in a video game. What's more, is that she didn't really seemed to be bothered by this. Though she just kind of stared, idly, at the back side of the kitchen door, I could tell that she was very much alive, and she looked  more bored with her situation than distressed. Using my telekinetic control, I "pulled" her upward and out of the ground, revealing the rest of her body.

Her body, though, didn't seem to be in the same condition. When I phased her up and out of the floor, it was as if I had pulled a rotting corpse from a vertical grave. I could see that, when I looked back at her face, it had began to bruise and wither, as if it, too, was starting to rot. Just slightly disturbed by this, I gave another wave of my hand and "willed" her to return to a more normal appearance, which worked, almost effortlessly. With an arguably-flirtatious smile, she said "oh, you're good," and I just smiled in return and opened the fridge, beside her, to see what was inside. I pulled out a translucent bin that was filled with the rotting remains of half-eaten fruits and vegetables. Feeling a little "Dr. Strange" inspired, I waved my hand again, and willed the fruits and veggies to refresh themselves, and the bin began to replenish itself as the food items started regenerating as if they were being 3D printed.

Leaving the kitchen, I remember spending some time walking around the house, doing more idle tricks, here and there. I began to remark at how vivid the dream was, and how grounded I felt to it, even without having to do any stabilization gestures. Out of curiosity, though, I decided to look at my hands, just to see how they would appear, in a dream that was already this detailed. As expected, they looked just like they would in waking life - all fingers were present, and in perfect shape. The only difference, though, is that I had single strands of bright green light strung between each of my fingers. I also recall picking up an ink pen from an end table, and flicking it through a nearby window pane, as if it were a bullet from a gun. At one point, I told some of the house occupants about this being a dream and about them being characters within it, but I don't remember their reactions.

I made my way out of the front side of the house and started walking down the sidewalk, meandering about and interacting with the neighbors, still feeling rather explorative and allowing the dreamscape to take me wherever it might. The longer I walked through the neighborhood, the more I could see that the neighbors were kind of "gathering." There was a palpable tension in the air, and all of the neighbors seemed to be streaming in one direction, as if the entire crowd was being led to some sort of event. I could hear a few of them talking, and there was, apparently, about to be some sort of clash with either another neighborhood, or some other kind of faction that these people were all united against. Curious, still, I decided to follow along with the crowd, to see what was going on.

The group began to file into a narrow, slum-esque alleyway, and I could see that there was another large group of people that was approach the front of our crowd. The tension was steadily rising, and I could tell that - for whatever reasons - these people were about to absolutely lay into each other. Close to the front of my group, I could see the two sides beginning to aggressively converge, and the moment the two crowds collided, all hell broke loose. Fists began flying, and gunfire filled the air. Military vehicles could be seen, speeding toward my group, from the other side. This was quickly turning into a major battle, and the vehicles coming in did not seem like they were going to stop, and they were set on mowing down our group, which was already firing back with everything they had.

Feeling like I was now at the epicenter of this intensifying collision, I suddenly threw both arms out - one in the direction of either crowd - and sent out a forceful, telekinetic "push" - a wave of force that threw the people of each faction back, away from each other, and crushed the oncoming vehicles to a stop, as if they'd hit a concrete wall.

Quite satisfied with this move, I smiled as the bewildered dream characters, from both sides, gathered around in wonder, at what I'd just done. They were absolutely astonished at this "power," that I had, and I started to show off a bit, picking a few random people up with telekinesis and setting them back down gently. I talked to them about how this was all a dream, in order to gauge their reactions, which was pretty much the standard level of disbelief that I normally get when having this conversation with dream characters.

It was then, though, that I began to notice people falling down.

I would glance from one person to another, confused to see their eyes roll back in their heads, and they would simply drop to the ground, as if all of the life had been instantly ripped from them. Each direction I turned, another person would "go white" and then drop. The dream was still so vivid, that I could even see the redness in the bloodshot corners of their eyes, even after all of the color had rolled back into their skulls. I started to walk forward, wondering what was going on, and the bodies continue dropping, in a wave formation, as if being within a certain range of me simply flipped a switch and turned them into lifeless husks. It got to the point where, seemingly, with every step I took, another dozen people in front of me would, instantly, go white in the eyes and then drop to the ground.

Before long, I was the only one still standing in the alley.

(There was little else that I could remember, after that point. I vaguely recall their being mention, somewhere, of some entity being behind this phenomenon, but I don't remember whether I was still lucid, when I heard that, or from where I heard it, exactly. It was just a hazy fragment that stuck with me, after I woke.)

"Blown out of the Sky" - 11/25/2011 (Lucid)

"Blown out of the Sky"
11/25/2011
Dream #2
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember was that I was lying down, naked, in a small, enclosed pod. Another body - petite; also naked - was sleeping on top of my chest. I could instantly tell it was a female, and that she was lying face down with her cheek practically nuzzled into my neck. I don't remember the dialogue that followed, but I heard a male voice, outside of the enclosure, stating that the girl was "T"  (an attractive friend and coworker, IRL) and that she had some kind of medical condition where, if she laid on her back for too long, she would stop breathing and die. She had, apparently, just rolled over, on her stomach, on top of me, and so the voice told me that I had to keep her there, asleep, so that she would neither wake up nor roll back over onto her back, since  she would be in danger of suffocating. I had no idea what we were even doing, lying in this chamber together, but the feeling of having here there with me was amazing. I was just loving it. She shuffled softly against me, and I put a hand down onto her lower back, feeling her torso rise and fall with another breath, confirming that she was breathing well and ok to be in this position. (With the lighting and everything, it felt like the final scene in "The Fifth Element," where Korben and Leeloo are in the rejuvenation chamber.)

The dream skipped ahead, and T and I were, then, sitting on an airplane together. We had gotten word (over the intercom, I believe), that we were under attack from rocket fire. No sooner did we get this warning, than a rocket slammed into the far section of the plane, causing an intense explosion. The far side of the plane (which I'm guessing was the front, because we were facing that way) tore right off of the rest of the aircraft, leaving a gaping hole, through which people and chairs began streaming out of the plane, into the night sky. We could only brace against each other and watch scores of people rip away from us - flinging out to God knows where - while we, still buckled into our seats, spiraled sickeningly toward a ground that we could not see. (My notes say something about making a deal with someone, which I don't really remember the details of, but I believe it had something to do with the attack on the plane.)

Soon, we were pulling ourselves out of the wreckage, having landed on some remote island, somewhere. I don't remember the actual impact, though. (It all seemed very "Lost"-like.) The plane was in ruins, but there were still a few survivors. Someone, who I believe might have been the pilot (even though he should have been torn away from us, with the rest of the plane), came onto the intercom and apologized for the rough landing, but he followed that by saying that 'at least it was better than the last time'...whatever that meant.

We were, soon, out in the wilderness, and we ran across a group of bandits who held us up (presumably, the ones who shot us down). They seemed pretty primitive, but they had weapons, and we didn't, so they began to take hostages. Once one of them got me in a chokehold, I began to panic a bit. However, I also began to suspect that I was dreaming. I held up one fist, in front of me, and tried to make a large blade grow out of my knuckles. It didn't work, though, and I just could not get the weapon to materialize. Instead, I pointed to another one of the bandits and made a 'flicking' gesture with my hand, as if I was brushing dust off of an old countertop. The man I was looking at promptly exploded and disappeared into thin air. The rest of the bandits stared at me, in shock, and began to fall back. The one who'd once had a hold of me quickly let me go. Now, content with the upper-hand, I let out a huge 'Shout' (taking a cue from "Skyrim") and unleashed a nice shockwave of sound, which blew some of the bandits backward. I could see the shockwave roll across the high grass and a nearby river bed, blasting into a patch of trees in the distance, where a grizzly bear had been standing. The husky bear reeled from the sound wave and turned tail to run away.

Quite satisfied with this, I went to turn my attention back to the bandits and saw that there was something coming, from off to one side. It was very large and moving over the river, but there was really nothing that we could identify - because of the torrential splashes of water shrouding the large, dark figure. At first, I thought it was a giant alligator - with a body some 15ft in diameter. But, when it got close enough to cease run/stomping through the water, its true form was revealed. It was a dragon - a pretty badass dragon, actually; all jagged, bony features and dark, nearly-black scales. It stopped in front of us, staring directly into my face, and had a short conversation with me, referring to me as the 'Dragonborn' (which is the nickname given to the lead character in Skyrim, which I have been playing lately, of course). I remember that it had the deep voice of the huge first dragon that I encountered in Skyrim, but I don't remember the conversation that we had.

Shortly after this, I was walking through a field, along with T. I took a moment to look at my hands, trying to ground myself into the dream a bit. My left hand looked fine, but I noticed that my right hand was missing two fingers and the thumb, bony stumps left where the fingers should be.

Again, my memory skips ahead a little while. We were in a more urban area, and a group of thugs pulled up in a caravan of jeeps and SUVs. There were a few more people in my group, now, than when it was just T and I. They, again, held us all at gunpoint, and the leader had this weird-looking gun that looked like it had 100 taser barbs, ready to fire. From the hardcore look of the weapon, though, it seemed like the barbs would do a lot more than just send a couple of thousand volts through someone. Still lucid, though, I kept getting in the leader's face, daring him to shoot me, trying to keep his attention off of the other people in my group.

There was another transition, and T and I were back in the wilderness - more of a jungle area, actually - trudging through a small pond of murky water. We were about stomach-deep, and it was only about 12 feet wide, so there already wasn't much room for us. It seemed much smaller, though. Much more crowded. That's when I noticed there was something very large, floating in the pond, just inches in front of me. It was actually taking up most of the space in the pond. I looked at it for a moment, and couldn't figure out what. It looked very rough, like it was a patch of hard Earth that was sticking up just a few inches out of the water. Then, I noticed it had a face, and on the near side of that face, I saw one, slit-pupiled eye staring back at me. An alligator. A very, very large alligator. T seemed to recognize it as a gator, at the same time as I did. I could see a quiet panic building up on her face, and I was feeling quite intimidated, myself. We shuffled quietly, trying to walk our way around it. I could see, though, that with every movement I made to get passed the gator, the gator's head would turn just slightly, in order to keep its eye on me. It was watching me, and I had a feeling it was about to strike at me, at any moment. I knew that this was a dream, but I wasn't really sure of what to do in the situation. I knew had to do something, though.

On instinct, I suddenly lunged at the enormous gator, landing on it's back and trying to wrap my arms around its mouth, from a mounted position. I landed a little too low on its body, though, and was only able to grab around its neck. The gator reared its head back, toward me, snapping its jaws just beside my head and grabbing ahold of my right ear with its teeth. I felt it bite down, but it didn't hurt all that match. I was, however, seemingly stuck. This thing would not let go of me, and I was not about to let go of it, giving it more room to maneuver. This thing could have easily bitten the top portion of my body in half, it was so big.

The last thing I remember is splashing around in the pond, fighting this massive reptile that had a vice-grip on my ear, while T tried to escape the water.

"Psycho-Science Incorporated" - 04/19/2021 (Lucid)

"Psycho-Science Incorporated"
04/19/2021
(Lucid)

(There were a lot of parallels between the building in this dream, and the AAA Headquarters building, where I previously worked. It was a large, scenic office building, shared by two associate entities, with a sort of mirrored architecture, where the front and back sides of the building were almost identical. I'd also fallen asleep after playing some Final Fantasy VII Remake, which my girlfriend rightly acknowledged might have influenced the whole "bio-engineering" aspect of the dream.)

Working in the "front side" of this expansive office building, in this dream, my crew and I really hadn't much knowledge of what went on in the company that shared the opposite end of the complex. I remember vague footage of them having a mysterious CEO who was known for going on these periodic "retreats," where he would just disappear for a while, with no contact with the rest of the world. Not long after one of these announcements had been made, I found myself having to get around to the back side of the building (for some reason I can't remember), and deciding to just walk through the other company's office space, instead of going around the entire perimeter, outside.

I pushed in the two, heavy doors that separated us via a connecting hallway, and immediately stepped into a large, white room (which looked a lot like some of the broader phone rooms in the AAA building). Trying not to make too much of a spectacle of myself, I quickly shuffled through the room, toward the far wall, maybe 50 yards away from where I'd entered. It was only when I was about halfway through the room that I began to take notice of my surroundings and the employees within it. Each employee was standing at their own podium, in paralleled formations on opposite sides of the room. They were wearing lab coats and each working on their own specific projects. The further that I got into the room, the more I began to take in what it looked like they were doing.

On each podium was some sort of grotesque, bio-engineering experiment. Everything from animals to human babies were being unceremoniously dissected and spliced with other organisms or mechanizations. I was so stunned by what I was seeing, that by the time I'd progressed to a reasonable level of concern, I was already on the far side of the large room, and in front of the elevator. Not 100% sure that I walked into it on my own accord, I'm feeling more that I was sort of ushered, hurriedly into the elevator. Whatever the case, it was taking me down (into what would have been the parking garage, at my old job).

When the elevator door opened, I was in a dimly-lit, industrial area. It took a moment - and a few steps inside - before I realized that this wasn't a parking garage, at all. There was a sense of dread, here, as I looked around, spotting blood-stained walls and steel-barred holding stations. Still in a state of shock, my feet were carrying me around this room, even though I instantly knew that I shouldn't be here. It wasn't until a few moments later, that I began to notice the severed body parts and other human remains that were strewn about the ground. This place was a dungeon, and it was a thousand times worse than anything I was seeing on the surface. Just when I was finally about to make my turn to get the hell out of this place, I was cornered by some agency employees, standing between me and the elevator. Once I made it blatantly clear to them that I was going to be leaving this place - one way or another - the employees brought in backup. That backup came in the form of a grizzly bear-sized human / dog chimera; it was a disgusting-looking creature that resembled a gigantic, human baby with pale, hairless skin and facial features that looked like they were constantly mutating from human, to dog - and back again - like molding clay which was constantly being sculpted as the creature stepped passed the line of employees and lumbered toward me.

I can't quite recall how violent the encounter was, but I know that I was able to fight like Hell and was soon scrambling into the elevator and making my way back up to the ground floor. Once back in the large, main room, I shuffled quickly across the office / lab, trying to keep a low profile, despite my state of terror, but I could clearly see the more-menacing stares coming from the other employees as they looked up at me from their experiments.

Only slightly relieved to be out of that lab, I was able to make it back to my company's portion of the building, frantically trying to explain to everyone about the evil, twisted corporation we shared space with. No one seemed the slightest bit interested, though. However, at some point during my ranting, I realized the absurdity of the entire situation. Eventually, I realized that this was all a dream and became lucid.

As is often the case, when I become lucid during some sort of "big bad" situation such as this, I began to set my mind on walking right back into that office and laying waste to their entire operation. Sure, I knew it was just a dream, but that's a level of satisfaction that I can rarely turn down. This time, instead of walking through the building, I decided to go around the perimeter and approach the other company from the outside. Apparently, though, many of my coworkers had gotten intrigued by my mission, and they'd formed a very large entourage behind me which, oddly, included my mother and one of my cousins. I wasn't sure what kind of Hell was going to break loose, once I started to storm this place, so I tried to lead the pack and get the rest of my dream character posse to hang back, while I scoped things out. My mother and cousin, though, especially, seemed a little too gung-ho and started trying to rush their way inside and to the nearest elevator.

Despite my warnings, they hopped into the elevator, and I ran in with them. We were taken back down to the basement. The first thing I saw, once we stepped into the dungeon-esque holding facility, was an employee mutilating a young woman who seemed to be coming off of her sedative. The coat-clad man was taking a saw to one of her legs and just mercilessly grinding away on it, tearing through the flesh and bone as she wailed in agony. The intensity of the scenario kept making me lose focus and forget that I was dreaming, prompting us to get caught by armed guards and taken to what looked like a small classroom or presentation room, surrounded by men with rifles. While being shoved down into a seat, I began to suspect, again, that I was dreaming. Motioning toward a nearby chair with a point of my index finger, I attempted to move the chair with my mind. It took a couple of discrete attempts, but I was able to nudge it with telekinesis, confirming to me, once again, that I was dreaming.

Immediately, I reached my hand out in front of me and focused on one of the armed men across the room, snatching the rifle out of his hand with telekinesis and pulling it over to me. When I caught the weapon and began to fire upon all of the guards, the gun was shooting large, plastic cannon balls, with heavy *chunk* *chunk* sounds, like the cannon games you might find at a carnival game booth. With this gun being pretty much harmless, I tried to snatch an even more high-tech looking gun from another guard, from yards away. Once I caught his gun, I could see that it was actually just a high-tech video camera. Finding it useless, I simply decided to rely on my telekinesis and starting throwing guards this way and that, around the room, while all of my tag-alongs escaped.

We fanned out through the office building, trying to find the exit, ending up near the expansive, wall-length windows that I had seen, upon my first entry into the lab - though it was now dark, outside. Unable to find a door to let us out, I walked over to one of the windows and slid one finger across it, trying to slice my way through the glass like a razor. As vivid as this dream was, though, I was unable to gain that level of control. Instead, I placed both hands upon the glass and began to vibrate them quickly, attempting to shatter the glass, rather than cutting through it. This was much easier, and a large panel of the glass wall smashed to the floor, allowing us all to flood out into the parking lot.

We all converged on our side of the building, and I began to lose lucidity again while we talked about our experiences inside. One girl - sobbing - said "look what they did to me!" She, then, held up her bloody, severed forearm, showing that they'd already began chopping her up, as they'd done the other girl that I'd seen in the basement. Suddenly, more armed guards came streaming out of the building and opened fire on our entire group. We scattered, once again, and I'd happened to catch a glimpse of the CEO from earlier in the dream, watching us - discretely - from atop a bicycle, beneath a nearby tree, as if he'd just been observing this whole ordeal. Remembering his face from before, I once again remembered that this was all a dream. My lucidity had returned, and the last thing I remember was - once again - storming back over to the building and the armed guards now waiting outside, with the intention to continue to take them on.

Dream #1
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember about this dream was sex with an old flame. In the middle of it, for some reason, I had left the room and gone into the kitchen. My mom was in the kitchen, and she started telling me about what she'd been cooking, so I got hungry (and distracted) and made myself a plate, having to put both the food and the BBQ sauce in the microwave, because they were both apparently too cold to eat. I went back in the bedroom, set the food down on my desk, and my lady-friend and I picked up right where we'd left off.

Later, after she had gone to sleep, I was BSing with some friends, in a dorm-like room. Something happened where I had to store something away in the bedroom, before too many people got a hold of it, but I don’t remember what it was. A few of the guys began to follow me into the room, but I quickly ushered them out because the girl was sleeping. The two friends I was with were in a huge rush to go ‘somewhere’, but didn’t seem to be able to settle on where it was they wanted to go. We all ended up arguing over what we were going to do with our time.

Before long, we were out on a highway at night, walking around instead of driving. There was a motorcycle that had been left alone, in a median, and we all stepped over to get a good look at it, thinking about taking it for a joyride. Out of nowhere, this chick looking like Michonne, from "The Walking Dead" came riding up on a bike of her own. Seeming to know that we were thinking about stealing the other bike, she kicked it over, off of the median, and it fell into a (quite random) ice-covered puddle on the overpass, sinking beneath the street. Not wanting to be connected to this destruction of property, my group and I ran like Hell.

We got back to our (now, futuristic-looking) school area, trying to keep a low profile so that we wouldn’t be tracked down over the incident with the fallen motorcycle. The downstairs lobby of this place was enormous, and it was there that I became lucid, while trying to keep myself out of sight of the authorities that I know were going to be chasing us. I attempted to fly up to the high, second floor, where our dorms were, but couldn’t stay off the ground. Slightly frustrated at this, I ended up taking the stairs. Moving through the hallways, I passed a classroom with a gorgeous, dirty-blonde co-ed and took her with me into a nearby bathroom stall.

I was pretty aggressive with her, at first, but it seemed that she wasn’t into it, at all. The more I pressed myself against her and my hands moved about her body, the more she froze up and shuddered, staring at me with wide, frightened eyes, as if she wanted me to stop but was too afraid to say anything. After a moment of attempted foreplay, it all just seemed way too creepy, and almost like I was trying to assault her. Even though I knew this was just a dream, I decided to back away from the situation and left the bathroom stall. An enormous group of other DC’s had gathered outside the stall, obviously responding to the girl’s non-vocal 'distress'. So, I just willed myself to ‘superspeed-dash’ right through them, coming out on the backside of the mob and continuing on to walk through the hallways, meeting up with my friends from earlier.

It wasn’t long before the ‘cops’ found us and began trying to attack us…with lightsabers, of all things. And enormous lightsaber/Force battle broke out - myself using telekinesis to strip men of their lightsabers to use against them. At one point, one of the agents threw his own lightsaber toward a disarmed partner, and I used my own lucid telekinesis to redirect the sheathed saber over toward myself, while it was in mid-air, then having two sabers to rip through the remaining police force with. Most of the fighting involved quick, evasive attacks while I was running through the lobby, away from the growing number of patrolmen.

I remember one instance of the dream beginning to fade, so I looked at my hands (which were, at first, all green and gooey, as if they were melting) and quickly began to bring things back into focus. After all of the opponents had been defeated, I took some time out to recall of the things that had happened in the dream, so far, knowing that I would have to try to wake myself up soon, so I could remember it all. It wasn't long after this before the dream ended, on its own.

"Queen of Heartless" - 10/20/2010 (Lucid)

"Queen of Heartless"

Dream #1
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember was that I was flying to Paris. There was an older man with me, and I believe that he was a scientist, but I'm not exactly sure of his role in the earlier parts of the dream. We'd gotten off of whatever flying vehicle we were in (I don't believe it was a plane.) and had begun sight-seeing; making our way up to the top of a tall building and looking out over the Parisian streets. It was at this time, that I spontaneously became lucid. Instinctively, I looked at my hands, in order to ground myself into the dream, but the dream immediately unraveled, and everything went black. I kept trying to keep myself in the dream, but it would only flicker into sight, a few times, and then disappear again.

(I don't know if I woke up, briefly, or just finally slipped back into same narrative. It seemed like such a continuation of the dream, though, that I will count the following as the same one.)

I was back in Paris, no longer lucid. My friend Tony was with me, this time, in place of the old man, and we were just wandering around the city, exploring different locations. We'd found ourselves inside a house and trying to get up the stairway, to the second floor. Unexpectedly, the staircase began crumbling under our feet. Tony had made it up, first, and the stairway completely gave way, while I was making my way up. I ended up having to hang from the damaged banister and use my arms to pull myself up higher and higher - gaining a bit of assistance from Tony, upon the last couple of feet - until I was able to pull myself fully onto the second floor.

Searching these upper hallways, we came across a person lying on the ground, as if she'd simply fallen asleep there. It was a little girl, probably no more than about 12 years old. Upon getting closer to the girl, and having a few, inquisitive words with her, we realized that she had been seriously abused and was left out in the hallway, after having been beaten. Apparently, her mother was the (actual) Queen of Hearts, and her father was just some insanely powerful creature (whom I never actually got to see, in the dream, but could feel his presence as this sort of looming sense of dread over the situation). The girl looked like she had just been beaten within a few inches of her life, and we told her we were going to get her out of there. We were barely able to get a few feet down the hallway, when we were confronted by her mother, who chastised us for having the gall to try to take her daughter away from her. She began to exert her true power, and the whole building began shaking. We high-tailed it out of there, and she chased us into the streets, people everywhere, screaming and running away from the continuous and intensifying tremors she was causing.

It was about here that I regained my lucidity, and I remember stopping to confront the queen. We were standing on an elevated stone walkway, or something, spotted with high bushes on either side. During our altercation, she said something about my not knowing who I was messing with, and she waved her hand, causing some white roses to bloom upon the bushes beside us - apparently not above showing off. I told her that I wasn't the least bit impressed, because this was my dream, and I flicked my fingers at her white roses, making them turn red, as if I was finishing her work for her. This understandably pissed her off, to no end, and she attacked me with the biggest 'force' blast that she could muster. Quite confident in my control, at this point, I fired back, and we got into a sort of 'telekinetic pushing match,' until she just couldn't withstand anymore. She completely submitted, and Tony and I continued to usher the kid further away from her mother, who ended up catching up to us, one last time, just as we'd entered a tunnel-like hallway. There, she made her final stand, warning us not to take the kid anywhere. When she reared back to throw another spell our way, I used more telekinesis, mentally grabbing her by the head and slamming her into one of the nearby walls, knocking her out cold.

I decided to stay with the kid, leading her to some random room, which looked like a kid's play room, and it was around here, when I lost lucidity again. We'd found a portal, inside the room, which was known to transport the kid to some far away place, where she wouldn't be abused by her parents anymore. The last thing I remember was a great feeling of accomplishment, knowing the kid was going to get away.

"Birth of a Djinn" - 08/2010 (Lucid)

"Birth of a Djinn"
08/29/2010
(Lucid)

(I'm going to go back and expand on some of my other, recent dreams, but I'm amazed that I was able to succeed in this lucid "mission," so soon after reading DreamViews member WakingNomad's 'Serial Dream RPG' thread. So I just had to hurry up and write this one out. I just wish I was able to remember some more of the details. Upon waking up at about 5am and browsing the  DV forums a bit, reminding myself to try for Nomad's first mission. In the past, I haven't had much luck with RPG-type tasks (of which my journal constantly reminds me ), but, amazingly, this one came pretty easily.)

I believe the dream started in my old high school cafeteria. There had been a bit going on, before this point, but I don't remember very much at all. My earliest, solid memory of this dream was becoming lucid in the cafeteria, by noticing how unclear and "hazy" things were, around me. I just didn't feel like I was in reality, and I quickly realized this to be because I was in an unstable dream. Immediately, I brought my hands up in front of me, and stared at them, trying to pull together all of the visual detail I could. I had an extra finger on each hand, and each one was loosely attached to the pinky before it, practically webbed. I lowered my hands and looked around, having succeeded in bringing things into more clarity. With almost uncommon ease (for myself, anyway), I quickly remembered my intention to try Nomad's RPG mission. I couldn't quite recall every detail of his scenario, but I remembered that I had to be walking on a path, through the woods, and look at myself in a mirror. Judging by where I was, though, there wasn't a wooded area anywhere near me.

I began to float through the school hallways, hovering in a standing position, as if my feet were still on the floor. After a while, I began to lose patience, getting the feeling that I wasn't any closer to finding an exit than when I started, so I tried some scene changing. Figuring that spinning would likely cause me to wake up, I closed my eyes lightly, and thought of the woods. When I opened them, I was in another setting (which I can't really remember), but it was definitely not a wooded path. I tried at least once or twice more, with no success. Then, I opened them again to find myself standing in some grass in a field. A bit closer to the woods than any of my other attempts, I imagined that, once I turned to the left, I would be in the middle of the woods. I spun to the left, and after a short blur of my vision, I saw that I was, indeed, standing in the middle of the woods, on a fairly wide path which ran through the cluster of trees around me.

Again recalling that I, next, had to look at myself in a mirror, I wondered just how I would get my hands on one. Ironically, I didn't even think about just turning around, to have one in front of me (which might have been much easier, but did carry the risk of losing dream stability, completely). Instead, I thought about the way I'd created a door, back in my "Water Dragon" dream, and decided to do something similar. I put my hands in front of me, as if I was holding a single point in space with the index fingers and thumbs of both my hands. I then pulled my hands apart, horizontally, creating a thin line which stretched between the two hands. Once it was a few inches wide, I then spread my index fingers away from their respective thumbs, expanding what was once a thin line, into an empty box (or "frame," kind of like film directors do) between my fingers. The geometric shape sat there between my fingers, as if I were holding a transparent credit card between my hands. Then, considering this to be the back side of the mirror, I then twisted my fingers so the box flipped around, vertically. It was like I had actually cut out a square, in my field of view, and then flipped everything inside that square - trees and all - around like a card in a magic trick. On the other side of this displaced rectangle of "reality" was a perfect little mirror, which I held up to my face, remembering that I had chosen a Djinn as my character for the game. In the reflection, I saw a hazy, obscure version of myself, staring back at me. I couldn't really make out all the details, but it looked incredibly plain - just my regular self.

A little bored with this rendition of my "character," I lowered the mirror away from my face. Clearing my mind and just hoping for something a little more interesting - yet trying not to consciously influence the outcome - I looked back into the mirror. This picture was much clearer. It was still me, but I was shirtless, and had thick, short, brownish/reddish hair, which sat wildly on top of my head. Two pointy little bumps of my skull sat above my eyebrows; a modest set of horns, which hadn't quite broken through the skin. I grinned at myself, which seemed quite humorously wicked. Overall, I figured my Djinn to be quite a handsome devil, so I was satisfied. Something happened, at this point, where my reflection began to take on a life of its own. This part is really fragmented, but I remember getting into an altercation with my reflection, and we started pushing/pulling on each other, like the shoving match we had in my last dream where I saw my reflection. I don't remember if I grabbed him and pulled him out of the mirror, or he grabbed me and pulled me into the mirror, but we were suddenly on the same plane, rolling around on the wooded path and trying to gain advantage over the other. I don't remember the outcome of that, though.

Later, I was back in an open field. There were a few people milling around, and a lake sat nearby. On the lake, I saw an abandoned little boat, struggling to stay afloat. I levitated myself and flew over to it, landing on top of it, feeling like taking a little explorative ride around this enormous lake. The boat was a small, blue motorboat with no motor. So, I took hold of the boat, telekinetically, and pushed it around the lake with my mind. Every now and then, I wondered if I would come across any of my usual sea monsters, but I was feeling a real sense of empowerment, in being my new Djinn character, and I honestly didn't care what I encountered, because I felt that I could take on anything.

I know there was so much more than happened, after this. I distinctly remember stopping somewhere and running back over the events of the dream in my mind, and trying to recall as much as possible, before I woke up, which is what I usually do during long lucids.

(But, sooner or later, the dream ended. I think a lot of time must had passed between the dream and the time I actually woke. Otherwise, I think I would have remembered a lot more than I did. I was only concerned with retaining the lucid portion, though, and I'm happy to have recalled as much as I had.

I plan on either drawing, modeling, or photoshopping a rendition of what my Djinn/self looked like in the dream, when I have the time. )

Space Rock Fairy - 02/26/2020 ( Lucid)

Space Rock Fairy
02/26/2020
Dream #1
(Lucid)

The first thing I remember is being at a pool party, some time around dusk. There were people both inside and outside the home, and things had started off fairly normally. This changed, though, when we were suddenly put on alert that there was a series of asteroids headed toward Earth, with projections of eminent impact. Not much longer had I received this news, than I realized that most of the people from the pool party had simply vanished. The few people left in the home told me that the others had escaped into an underground bunker and, apparently, we had been left behind.

From outside, a series of loud explosions began to shake the home. The asteroid bombardment had begun. I knew that this house would get flattened, and that I had to find some way to shield myself from the falling masses. Perhaps counter-intuitively, I ran outside. I was as if bombs were detonating across the neighborhood, as the flaming rocks began to level the neighborhood. From where I was standing, and at the angle from which the asteroids were incoming, I could see that I might have a chance of blocking their trajectory, if I jumped into the pool and flattened myself against the forward-facing wall. There was no other shelter, around.

Having little time for doubt, I dove into the water, holding my breath and ducking against the wall of the pool. The asteroid onslaught continued around me, and I could hear them crashing onto the pool deck and see them falling into the water, just out of reach of me, the 6-to-8-foot wall providing the slightest bit of cover. I was, however, running into another problem. I was running out of breath, and I knew I couldn't stay here, forever. (I am a recreational free-diver, and I can hold my breath for a good while, but that wasn't going to help me, in this situation.)

Luckily, just as I was weighing the necessity of me coming out of hiding, in order to breathe, I realized that I already could breathe! I immediately knew that I was dreaming. No longer fearing the asteroid catastrophe, I crawled out of the pool and stood on the deck, looking up at the sky. The asteroids were still raining down, and I could see that they looked very polished and low-res - almost 'video game-like'. Reaching my hands up, and focusing my mind, I began deflecting away the asteroids with telekinesis, causing them to either break apart, on impact with the invisible barrier over my head, or to spin off course, missing me and the house, and crashing somewhere else in the neighborhood.

By this time, the pool party-goers were starting to re-emerge, many of them crowding around the pool to watch me fight off the asteroids. It was then, that I saw a winged creature - similar to a moth, but about the size of a small dog - come frantically spiraling down from the same direction of the falling rocks. It flew around the yard, erratically, and I, still aware this was a dream, was fascinated by it. I ran after it and caught it in my hands, wrestling with the creature as it tried to escape my grasp. Though I knew I had nothing to fear, just holding this wriggling, squirming, giant insect in my hands was rather disturbing, but I held on, nonetheless.

On the patio, nearby, I found a large container made out of a kind of glass or transparent plastic, and I was able to trap the creature inside. It fluttered within, with such a force that it broke one of the side panels, but before it could escape, I pushed back against the box with telekinesis and was able to keep it shut. The people gathered around this box and we just stared at this creature, watching it bounce around, inside. Curiosity was getting the better of me, and I began to wonder what this thing would say if it could talk. Softening any expectations I might have, I attempted to "will" the creature into speaking English, to see if it would communicate with us. My expectations were successfully subverted, as this thing turned into a full-on, apparently female, fairy.

Still small enough to fit in the box, the panicked fairy began shouting a warning to us: she said that she was an alien creature, and her very powerful father had been chasing her across the cosmos. If we didn't let her go, she said, her father would inevitably find her and, upon doing so, would likely destroy the planet, just out of spite. Of course, had this been any other scenario, I would have been terrified at this new development. However, since I was fully lucid, and feeling quite confident in my dream control, I thought this was awesome, and I couldn't wait to meet the guy!

Seconds later, a sleek, black object descended from the sky. It was a smooth, almost teardrop-shaped vessel, which slowly landed in the yard, just beside the pool. A ship. One side of the object opened up, and an enormous, shadowy-black figure emerged from within. He stood around 10 feet tall, and had red, glowing eyes, though I couldn't really make out any of his other features, even in the fading sunlight. (He reminded me a bit of the character Trigon, from DC's Titans, though as little more than a silhouette.)

Unfortunately, I started to lose lucidity, around here. I remember having a brief conversation with this "monster," and I was able to trick him into thinking that his daughter had passed up Earth and gone to some other planet. Sooner or later, he up and left, without incident. Upon his departure, the fairy came out of hiding, and the last thing I remember her saying was something about how pissed he was going to be, when he realizes he'd been duped and comes back around.
